Queenscliff Cruising Yacht Club, with the assistance of Royal Brighton Yacht Club, is pleased to announce planning 2026 for the HMAS Goorangai Memorial Trophy Race and the Eliza Ramsden Trophy Race is underway.

Course: Start at RBYC Race Control Tower – West Channel Pile – Port hand mark (off Queenscliff) – Finish at QCYC

Venue: Port Phillip, between Brighton and Queenscliff

ENTRY & FEES

Entry fee: $50.00 (open until October 28th, 2026)

Late entry fee: $70.00 (from October 29th, 2026)

Entries close: 20:00 hrs, October 29th, 2026

The Eliza Ramsden Trophy is for boats with a female helm and is included in the Goorangai Trophy entry fee at no extra cost. Eliza Ramsden competitors are also eligible for HMAS Goorangai Trophy prizes.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

Available after 09:00 on October 24th, 2026, from the RBYC office or the QCYC website.

OPENING DAY

QCYC celebrates its Opening Day on Sunday, November 1st, 2026. All Goorangai and Eliza Ramsden competitors are warmly invited to stay overnight and join the Opening Ceremony, Blessing of the Fleet, and luncheon. Free berthing is provided on the Saturday night for race competitors; additional nights are at standard club berthing rates. Visiting boats must submit a QCYC Berthing Request Form.

Boats must carry a VHF transceiver capable of channels 12, 16, 67, 73, and 82, and hold third-party liability insurance of at least $10,000,000 per event.
